BEN DUM

On-floor Trainer / Youth Development

A native of Elliottsburg, PA, Ben has been a part of the FullReps team amidst competing in his own professional baseball career since the summer of 2020. 

 

In 2019, Ben began his professional career spending 1 year with the Minnesota Twins, about 3 years with the Atlanta Braves, and spent stints in Independent Leagues with the Southern Illinois Miners and York Revolution. 

 

He earned a Division 1 scholarship to pitch at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he earned a BA in Psychology and a minor in Business Management.  Through his career he pitched to a team best 1.64 ERA over 49.1 innings his junior year and was named Atlantic 10 All-Conference his senior year.  He was also a member of the Strasburg Express in The Valley Collegiate Summer league for 2 years where he was named VL First Team both years and was named the #2 and #4 starting pitchers in the league each respective season.  He is a graduate of West Perry HS where he set school records for single season ERA - 0.29, games & innings pitched - 49, 278.2, strikeouts - 335, and wins - 34. 

 

Ben began training at FullReps during college winter breaks in 2017, and has trained here every off season since.  He began his employment with FullReps in the summer of 2020 when the minor league season was shut down due to the pandemic, and also has coaching experience as an Assistant Coach for the Mid-State Mavericks 14u team. 

 

Each off-season since 2020 he has been part of the team in the facility working with in-house athletes on the floor and in the weight room, and has spent time creating player development plans for remote and youth athletes.  He has always had a passion for player development, continuously finds ways to get better, and has found great joy in pushing others to continue chasing their passions and be at their best.
