SCOTT SWANSON (SWANNY)
Founder/Owner
Rehab Pitching Coordinator
Scott is the founder/owner of FullReps Training Center and currently serves as our rehab pitching coordinator - working with MLB, MiLB and amateur pitchers to enhance movement quality, build healthy velocity and help implement actionable player development/pitching plans. When Scott isn’t working directly with athletes, his focus is on improving the company’s internal structures & systems to help produce better results for the entire fullreps ecosystem.
Scott grew up in NY and played his college ball at Binghamton Univeristy. After multiple shoulder surgeries in college, his passion for arm health and development really blossomed. Post college he taught elementary school and traveled around the country visiting the best player development facilities/coaches in an effort to research and learn as much information as possible from the best in the industry.
In 2016, while working full-time as a teacher and full-time as a coach, he had a dream/vision to create the best player development facility in the country. A facility rooted in athlete results/experience where quality > quantity was a must. Although he had no background in business or starting a company, he recalls lying in bed at night for months saying to himself “Can you think of a single great achievement in life that didn’t start as someone’s crazy, unrealistic dream?”. The following year, he did just that. He quit his teaching job in an effort to chase his dreams and went all in on player development. Months later, FullReps was born.
Scott is responsible for some of the major breakthroughs FullReps has made in the way that technology is integrated into training and made into an applicable, quantitative process for programming & bio-mechanical assessments. His keen understanding of constraint training, implicit & differential learning and skill acquisition science (the theory and the application) along with his unique approach to training has helped FullReps bridge the gap precisely between player development and overall health.
Scott’s first principles/philosophies on player development are founded on producing better results for athletes and creating an environment that facilitates a love for learning and thoughtful questioning. For as long as Scott has coached, he has always taken an holistic approach to developing pitchers by allowing the body to grow organically and solve problems as they arise through an implicit systematic approach. An approach he describes as “much less inundating & much more intuitive”
Outside of baseball, Scott enjoys spending his time with his two sons, Henry & Theo. In the spring you can find him out in the central PA fly fishing for trout or out in the woods to enjoy a hike or camping.
